Breakfast of Champions

My breakfast!
Colby's bowl of goodies

This morning started early but I'm feeling great. A 5 mile run completed before 7am and a dog walk makes for a really healthy and active morning! Of course an early morning isn't complete until you've prepared your breakfast! I really believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If I skimp on what I eat, I find myself grazing more than usual and opting for less healthy choices throughout the day. I've never been one to skip breakfast, but I can only imagine if I did, I'd probably be that person you would want to avoid! A hungry girl is not a happy girl!
I know a certain puppy that looks forward to breakfast just as much as I do! Every morning without fail, Colby will charge out of her crate or wait patiently by our bedroom door for her morning meal. After picking up the first bone in sight and wagging her tail back and forth, she will always plop down on the kitchen mat and watch as I carefully scoop her kibble in to one of her dishes. This week has been extra special for her because we have added a scoop of vanilla greek yogurt (Colby loves Chobani) and a scoop of pumpkin! Thanks to our wonderful Vet's recommendation, the greek yogurt has plenty of probiotics to keep her healthy and the pumpkin (as I mentioned in an earlier post) gives her the extra serving of fiber! Extra goodies makes Colby even more excited for her morning breakfast.
As for myself, I like to change up the breakfast options every other day. When I'm in the mood for something warm, I opt for oatmeal but after a really active morning, some scrambled eggs and veggies really hit the spot. I would say breakfast not only gives you the fuel you need to start your day, it never let's me down. No matter what, it is always consistent, tastes good and you can enjoy it any time of day! Breakfast for dinner anyone?! On a side note, Happy Friday!!
